A promoter in South Trinidad is putting on an “Iron Man” competition ahead of carnival.

It’s a first for this type of event, but Mr. Rupert “Buddy Rock” Lopez believes the iron-rhythm is the soul and heartbeat of carnival.

He hopes an event like this one could help develop the artform and incite cultural interest amongst the youth.
