On February 7, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria. The quake killed more than 237 people in government-held parts of Syria. In Turkey the initial death count was 76, reported AFP. The strong earthquake hit the nation when people were still in their sleep. More than 400 people have been left injured. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed grief. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Anguished by the loss of lives & damage of property due to the earthquake in Turkey.” Watch the video to know more.1
