Water supply disruption from Lawa Gadong on the mainland to Labuan island has reached a point where locals may have to forgo bathing for up to five days, claims Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman.
The Labuan MP asked Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad in Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Feb 23), when will the Lawa Gadong treatment plant be implemented, and also questioned why the upgrading works at the Jalan Kolam treatment plant in Labuan were being carried out in a piecemeal manner.
Nik Nazmi assured Suhaili work to upgrade the water supply system in Labuan was underway, and the Jalan Kolam treatment plant has been retendered again and it will be completed by the third quarter of 2024.
