Tourné clandestinement en Tchétchénie pendant la première guerre, monté dix ans plus tard pour témoigner d'une histoire oubliée, Itchkéri Kenti est, aux yeux des Tchétchènes, un film symbole.
Limiter sa portée à la Tchétchénie serait pourtant réducteur. En France, en Europe, en Algérie, l'intensité des réactions parle d'elle-même : chacun se découvre un peu Tchétchène après avoir vu ce film.
Itchkéri Kenti est un film sur l'humain dans la guerre et la résistance. Un film qui interroge notre mémoire.
