Satish Kaushik's sudden demise has left the entire film fraternity shocked. Born on 13 April 1956 in Mahendragarh, Haryana, Satish graduated from Delhi's Kirori Mal College, Delhi was an alumnus of National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India. He made his acting debut in Bollywood with 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' and his first directorial was 'Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja'. But as an actor he was noted for his roles as 'Calendar' in Mr. India. He won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural. Talking about his personal life, he was married to Shashi Kaushik and the couple had a son, Shanu Kaushik, who died at the age of 2.
