Moxy is a rock metal band from Toronto (Toronto, Ontario), active from 1974-1983 and 1999-2009. All members of the original line-up played in different bands: vocalist Douglas "Buzz" Shearman (ex-Sherman & Peabody), guitarist Earl Johnson (ex-King Biscuit Boy), drummer Bill Wade (ex-Outlaw Music, ex-Brutus), bassist Terry Juric (ex-Outlaw Music)... But they all met in Leigh Ashford (who changed their name to Moxy in 1974)... They released their debut album in 1975 on Canadian Polydor Records , also called The Black Album ... In 1976, this album was distributed around the world by Mercury Records(both labels were from PolyGram group)... Guitarist Tommy Bolin (ex-Zephyr, ex-Energy, ex-The James Gang, pre-Deep Purple) recorded as a guest (and very active) on the album .
