Climate watchdog RimbaWatch's report on the “State of the Malaysian Rainforest 2023” found that not only has Malaysia lost some 350,000 hectares of forest within 5 years between 2017 to 2021, but we are set to lose more than 6 times that in the near future, as 2.3 million hectares have already earmarked for deforestation.
