In Catalonia, the Real Federación Espaola de Ftbol is represented by the Federación Catalana de Ftbol (FCF), which is formally known as Federació Catalana de Ftbol. From the time of its founding until 1940, it was in charge of planning the Catalan football championship. The Cup Catalua, all football divisions below the Tercera División, and the national team are currently organized. The International Trofeo Catalunya has been organized since 2009.
The Foot-ball Associació, the first association for football in Catalonia and Spain and an affiliate of the Catalan Federation, is founded on November 11th, 1900. El RCD Espaol, Hispania, Catalonia, and FC Barcelona were members, and Eduard Alesson served as president. This foundation did not succeed in any way.
The Asociación de Clubes de Ftbol de Catalua, whose mission is to support the small and basic teams, is established in 2001 under the leadership of the Gramenet and the Hospitalet.
