The U.S Ambassador to this country says that through "the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, the United States has invested over US$832 million in the Caribbean to reduce illicit firearms trafficking."

Ambassador Candace Bond outlined details about the role the U.S. has been playing in the war on illegal guns and ammunition in the region, just over a week after Caricom Heads of Government called on the U.S. to do more in that war.
