The chief executive of ITV has said she is “very concerned” for Philip Schofield’s welfare but stopped short of comparing his treatment by the media to that of the late Caroline Flack.
MPs investigating the broadcaster’s handling of the This Morning fallout asked Dame Carolyn McCall whether Mr Schofield was being “hounded” like the presenter who took her own life.
She responded: “I don’t want to make those comparisons although I would say I think he has been hounded.” Report by Buseld. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/itn and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itn
