Multiple Amtrak train cars derailed Wednesday afternoon in Southern California, leaving passengers briefly stranded and at least eight people injured.
The train was traveling through Moorpark - a city northwest of Los Angeles - when it struck an unoccupied car on the tracks
Helicopter footage from the scene showed the first responders assisting dozens of passengers with baggage across train tracks and away from the locomotive.
Seven people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, the Ventura County Fire Department PIO said on Twitter. One person's injuries were described as 'moderate.'
