The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) expressed its discontent over Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley’s decision to release an internal document about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, Insider reports.

The said document contains unverified allegations against the Bidens accepting bribes from a Ukrainian gas company.

FBI’s Stance: The FBI criticized the release, stating it “unnecessarily risks the safety of a confidential source.” The document contains claims from a confidential informant about alleged bribes from Burisma.

Republican Response: Grassley, who published the document, disputed the FBI’s claim, arguing that the release was necessary for public transparency. He stated that the document came to him “via legally protected disclosures by Justice Department whistleblowers.”
