Typhoon devastates northern Philippines; thousands displaced
Typhoon Doksuri (Philippine name: Egay) causes extensive damage in the northern Philippines, with homes losing tin roofs, villages being flooded, and power outages affecting the region. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as more than 12,000 people were evacuated from high-risk areas on Fuga island, and precautionary measures were taken in other provinces. The typhoon's broad 700-kilometer-wide band of strong winds and rain led to the displacement of thousands of people in the affected areas.
