Sri Lanka coach Chandika Hathurusingha praised veteran pacer Lasith Malinga for scripting a thrilling 34-run win against Afghanistan in Cardiff on June 4. It was Lanka's first win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and came after the islanders suffered a massive batting collapse on a green wicket. Malinga (3 for 39) was well supported by pacer Nuwan Pradeep (4 for 31) as the Afghans, chasing a revised target of 187, failed to handle both swing and pace. Sri Lanka play Bangladesh next on June 11. (Video courtesy: ICC)
