A grand jury in Georgia has indicted former President Donald Trump, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and other allies, including Mark Meadows and Sidney Powell, on charges of operating a criminal enterprise that sought to overturn Joe Biden's electoral victory in Georgia. The indictment includes 13 felony charges against Trump for allegedly pushing false claims of voter fraud and pressuring Republican officials to help him secure the state's Electoral College votes. The indictment, brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, covers some of the same ground as the federal case Trump faces in Washington but offers new details and elements of the alleged conspiracy. The indictment alleges 161 separate acts as part of the conspiracy to reverse the election outcome, beginning with a speech Trump gave declaring victory the day after the presidential election. Trump's lawyers have called the indictment flawed and unconstitutional. Willis has given the defendants until Friday, Aug. 25, to turn themselves in. This is the fourth indictment against Trump this year, deepening his legal troubles ahead of the 2024 election.
