Harry Kane was given a smoky welcome to the Bundesliga after Werden Bremen supporters put on a mesmerizing pyrotechnic show at the start of the second half in Friday's season-opener.

The Englishman scored as he made his German top-flight debut against Bremen with Bayern traveling to the Weserstadion on the eve of the weekend.

However, Kane perhaps wasn't prepared for an explosive light show that got underway when home supporters lit flares and fireworks in the stands.

The 42,000-seater stadium was packed with excited fans eagerly waiting to see their team in action on the opening day of the new season and ultras made themselves both seen and heard after the interval.

Supporters at opposite ends of the stadium lit a unison of pyrotechnics with one group using bright white explosives and the other striking up red flares.

Footage shows a huge array of white fireworks being set off in the lower tier of one stand as the crowd, obscured from view beneath a blanket of smoke bounces up and down.

Chants can be heard echoing around the venue while pops of flares continue to sound and giant flags are waved amid the stand.

Ironically a television screen at the top of the stands displays a huge warning symbol captioned with words related to the use of pyrotechnics.

However, there appears to be no intervention from any officials with the fans eventually allowing their devices to run out of gunpowder.

The red flares in the away section at the other end of the stadium are equally impressive with Bayern supporters responding in equal message.

Their display is less erratic as fans in the upper tier stand while holding red torches that create a sea of striking color that shimmers in the evening dark.

Smoke again fills up that part of the stands and continues to drift towards the pitch where players are about to get the second half underway.

The flares eventually run out of puff and there are no more light shows when play does resume, but players have to wade through smoke during the next five minutes as it drifts out into the open air.
