This moment was only made possible thanks to the ongoing conservation and predation control in the area and should be a source of inspiration for more like it across New Zealand. Being the last remaining native owl, it is so important that we do our best to save all species including Ruru from possible extinction. I love being able to provide a window for local and global audiences to fall in love with the special flora and fauna that Aotearoa has to offer!"
