Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to Elon Musk's recent comments that Taiwan is an "integral part of China," affirming that the democratic island is not part of China. Musk made comments at a conference this week in which he said Taiwan is "maybe...like an integral part of China that is arbitrarily not part of China." Musk relies on Tesla's China market as Tesla's Shanghai factory accounts for over half its global sales, but it has faced some issues in China. Taiwan has hit back at Musk's claims, while also taking a dig at Musk by pointing out he could ask China to open Twitter in the country.
