This is the terrifying moment a private plane carrying eight people skidded off the runway and crashed amid bad weather.

The accident took place at an airport in Mumbai yesterday (14/9) as heavy rain lashed down.

Reports say six passengers and two crew were onboard, of which at least three were injured.

No casualties have been reported as of yesterday.

The aircraft - a Learjet 45 - appears to have split in two after crash-landing, according to footage from the scene.

Mumbai International Airport Limited said the aircraft skidded off the runway due to adverse weather conditions.
