The attacks are believed to have been carried out by different hacker groups. Caesars Entertainment has not confirmed whether a ransom was paid but is offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection to affected customers. MGM Resorts experienced a shutdown of its properties and is currently being investigated by the FBI.
