Two female students were injured, one seriously, following an alleged stabbing incident at the Australian National University in Canberra today. Police and ambulance teams were called to the campus at around 14.45 upon reports of a stabbing. ACT Police said three people were injured, two with stab wounds and one who was allegedly assaulted. Two female students were stabbed at the Australian National University in Canberra. The two women, both 20 years old, were taken to hospital a short time later. A 34-year-old man was also allegedly attacked. A previous statement said all three were taken hospital, but ACT Police later confirmed the man had minor injuries and did not need to be taken hospital. ACT Police hold a man in custody. A 24-year-old man, who is not believed to be a university student, is being detained by the police. He has not been charged at this time.
