Severe Tropical Storm Jenny (international name: Koinu) further intensified and may become a typhoon Monday morning, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Jenny was located at 715 km east of Aparri, Cagayan, moving northwest at 10 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 135 km/h.

Jenny is forecast to steadily intensify throughout the forecast period and may reach the typhoon category Monday morning. Furthermore, it may reach its peak intensity on Tuesday.
