Russian President Vladimir Putin lauded Indian leadership at an event in Russia. He called the Indian leadership ‘self-directed’ and led by national interests. Meanwhile, he fiercely attacked Western countries He said, “They are trying to cast everyone who is not ready to blindly follow them”. Notably, Russian Prez hailed PM Modi, stating that “he is a very wise man,” Russia-based media RT reported. Putin has also called for further cooperation between Russia and India in the field of financial security and the fight against cybercrime. Russian Prez remarks come on the heels of the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration at the G20 Summit in India. The New Delhi Declaration was welcomed by Moscow, which termed it a "milestone" and also praised the India’s role.
