Barbara Incerti's Fatal Crash @ Rally del Veneto 2022 (Aftermath)

The first edition of the Rally del Veneto reserved for historic, was suspended after a fatal accident involving a competing car. It happened on Saturday morning, 10 December 2022, during the second special stage and the remainder of the day's rally stages were canceled.

Shortly after the start of the 12-kilometer second special stage "Tzimbar 1", the #38 yellow Peugeot 205 Rallye, driven by Nicola Cassinadri and his co-driver Barbara Incerti went out of control, left the road and overturned, near the small village of Santissima Trinità, neighborood to Badia Calavena, province of Verona, Italy. The car fell into a five-meter deep ravine, coming to rest upside down onto the road below. Despite the immediate intervention of the emergency crews who immediately started advanced resuscitation procedures, they could do nothing to save the life of the navigator Barbara Incerti and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver Nicola Cassinadri was taken by ambulance to the Borgo Trento hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

A Red Cross volunteer, Barbara Incerti, 53-year-old, was a mother of two sons, Matteo and Andrea, and operated a food store in Marola di Carpineti, province of Reggio Emilia, Italy. She and her life partner Nicola Cassinadri, 50-year-old, from Felina di Castelnuovo, Reggio Emilia, raced together for five years, mainly in rallies for historic. They scored many class victories sharing the Peugeot 205 Rallye, reg. plate number SI362996, entered by the Motoracing Team of Felina di Castelnuovo.
