Algeria's manager was seen grabbing West Ham star Said Benrahma by his shirt during his side's 1-1 draw with Egypt on Monday.

The incident occurred in the 63rd minute after Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi opted to substitute the Hammers winger in place of Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Benrahma painted a dejected figure as he, initially, attempted to walk past Belmadi and straight to the substitutes bench.

However, his manager was adamant that he would receive a hand-shake from the former Brentford star and made that clear as he confronted Benrahma immediately.

In a clip that since went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, Belmadi can be seen grabbing Benrahma by the collar of his shirt - leaving the winger startled.

The national team coach was seen pulling Benrahma close to his face as they exchanged words in a heated touchline encounter.

Belmadi painted an irate figure while the West Ham star seemed somewhat bemused by his manager's aggression.

At the time, Algeria was trailing 1-0 after Hamdi Fathi gave Eygpt the lead in the 62nd minute with a close-range header.

However, former Leicester City striker Islam Slimani leveled the score for Belmadi's side deep in added time after guiding a header into the back of the net.

Benrahma, 28, has made 21 appearances for Algeria's national team since making his debut back in 2015 and has gone on to score one goal during that time.

Since joining West Ham back in 2020, Benrahma has gone on to make 143 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers.

During that time, he's managed to score 24 goals and lay on another 19 assists for his team-mates. He was part of the squad that lifted the Europa Conference League trophy last season.
