French rally driver Jean-Louis Hardy was killed on 19 April 1987 during an exhibition run before Ronde Leuquoise held in the city of Toul, Meurthe-Et-Moselle. The accident completely destroyed the vehicle; Hardy died shortly after the crash, his unnamed co-driver was grievously injured and transported to hospital.

Jean-Louis Hardy was a member of Club Lorraine des Berlinettes Alpines.
