A man is fighting for life in hospital after he was stabbed in the neck in a horrific street attack in Hockley. The victim was found lying in a pool of blood with serious injuries and was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Sunday. Police are appealing for information.

West Midlands Police are holding a suspect in custody after two officers were assaulted while attending an incident in Springfield. The officers taken to hospital have since been discharged. The suspect is aged in his 50s and is being held on suspicion of wounding.
