As the frequency of parcel deliveries increases in the run up to Christmas, Merseyside Police are taking proactive steps to disrupt parcel thieves and asking people to think about how and where they have parcels delivered. Police advise identifying a safe place out of sight of opportunistic thieves.

Freshfields Animal Rescue have launched their Christmas Appeal – Hope for the Hopeless. They say they're facing unprecedented demand for spaces in their rescue centre due to the cost of living crisis and a massive overpopulation of pets across the whole country.

The oldest known Penny Lane sign has gone on display in a Liverpool museum - 47 years after it was stolen. The Beatles Story museum was contacted earlier this year by a man who described the sign's theft in 1976 by a group of students who were 'worse for wear'. He offered to post the 'totally pristine' street sign back to Liverpool, where he said, 'it should now spend the rest of its days'.
