Japanese seek safety after deadly earthquake hits
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake on Jan. 1, 2024 in Ishikawa prefecture resulted in at least 73 deaths, prompting residents to find refuge in an evacuation center in Anamizu. The Noto region along the Sea of Japan coast suffered severe damage, with fires destroying buildings and towns experiencing house collapses.
