Kishkindha, a kingdom of vanaras in Hinduism, is featured in the Sanskrit epic Ramayana. Ruled by King Sugriva, aided by his counselor Hanuman, it was situated in the dense Dandaka Forest during the Treta Yuga. Founded by King Danda in the Satya Yuga, the region covered the Vindhya range to the South Indian peninsula.
