The UK government announced plans to ban disposable e-cigarettes and introduce new restrictions on vape packaging and flavors due to concerns about rising youth vaping rates. Around 9% of 11-15-year-olds in the UK currently use e-cigarettes, despite their sale being illegal to under-18s. This is triple the rate from a few years ago. Disposable vapes that are used once and thrown away have grown in popularity but contain batteries and circuits that are difficult and expensive to recycle sustainably.
