Fans have hailed the Tottenham striker after his first-half brace against Everton, even if he failed to celebrate the two goals against his former club.

The in-form forward returned to Goodison Park having scored seven goals in his last seven games and wasted little time in adding to that tally on his old stomping ground.

The Brazilian took just three minutes to open the scoring on Merseyside, and after Jack Harrison drew the hosts level, added a second before the break with a delicious curled finish.

Fans went on social media to praise his second strike, and his current form in front of goal for Spurs.

'Richarlison form ain't talked about enough. Man is on fire!' One post read on X, while others said: 'Warra strike. Finally seeing the real Richarlison' and 'That’s a quality strike from Richarlison. Quality.'

However, viewers were also quick to point out Richarlison's reluctance to celebrate the goals against his old club.

The 26-year-old spent four seasons at Everton, scoring 53 goals, and upon netting against his former side, played down any celebrations with his team-mates.

He even put his shirt over his head moments after scoring his second, almost in apology to the home fans.

His actions were quickly noticed by fans and journalists, with one posting: 'Richarlison fuming that he can’t celebrate these beautiful goals.'

While another quipped, 'Third goal against Everton for Richarlison this season. Every single time, it looks like it pains him that he can’t celebrate against his former team.'

Watching on as part of TNT's coverage, Peter Crouch was full of praise for Richarlison's form and his first-half performance.

'What a finish from Richarlison,' said Crouch.

He is a player just full of confidence at the moment. We see Udogie, linking up down the left-hand side and he holds his run well. He then adjusts his body and gets it in the far corner, it was an amazing skill just shows a measure of his confidence at the moment.'

The former England forward was equally impressed with Richarlison's second goal, and the role James Madison played in the build-up.

Adding: 'Got to love this goal. Madison shows great feet and awareness to pick out Richarlison and he still has loads to do. But he just opened his body out and curled it in, absolutely beautiful finish and he is playing with a load of confidence and looks like the dangerous man at the moment.'
