On February 19, farmer leaders rejected the government’s proposal. They rejected the proposal of buying pulses, maize and cotton at MSP by government agencies for five years. The protesting farmers said it was not in their interest. On February 18, Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Arjun Munda and Nityanand Rai gave the proposal to the farmers during the fourth round of talks in Chandigarh, reported PTI. Farmers have been protesting at Shambhu and Khanauri points on Punjab’s border with Haryana after their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march was stopped by security forces. Watch the video to know more.
