Japanese chocolatier conquers Belgium
Yasushi Sasaki, originally from Japan, moved to Belgium at 19 without a plan. Now 52, he's been crowned Brussels' top chocolatier for 2024 by Gault&Millau. ‘Chocolate is everything to me,’ he says. Known as a "flavor wizard," Sasaki blends Japanese and Belgian culinary styles in his chocolates, using ingredients such as matcha tea, yuzu, and red beans.
