On April 16, heavy rains lashed the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Several highways were flooded and cars were abandoned on roads across Dubai. Air travel was also disrupted across the desert country. Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest for international travel, was forced to divert several incoming flights due to heavy rains. Entire UAE and neighbouring Bahrain experienced flooding.
