Size paper (11" x 8.5")
What you'll need:
Pre-made template sheets with "Mother" written vertically (one sheet per student)
Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
Construction paper (various colors)
Glue
Here's the plan:
Topic Time! Each student gets a template with "Mother" prominently displayed. Explain that acrostic poems use each letter of the word as a starting point for a line about the topic (in this case, Mom!).
Brainstorming Bonanza! Students will think of words or phrases that describe their moms or what they love about them. Encourage them to get creative! For example, for "M," they might write "Makes the best pancakes," or "My biggest cheerleader."
Poem Power! Have students write their chosen words or phrases on the corresponding lines below each letter of "Mother."
Colorful Creations! Now comes the fun part! Students can unleash their inner artist and color their poems with vibrant colors.
This activity is perfect for pre-k through 6, allowing students of different ages to showcase their creativity and express their appreciation for Mom in a unique way.
