For the first time since the start of the war in Gaza, the Islamic Resistance in Bahrain claimed responsibility for attacks on Israeli targets in the Eilat region of southern Israel.

This is the first time the Bahrain-based group has taken action as part of increasing regional solidarity towards Palestinians in Gaza. The Ashtar Brigade said they had struck Israeli targets using drones, and their actions were carried out in solidarity with “those who have been patient in fighting Israel in Gaza.

”The Bahrain Brigade said on Thursday, May 2, 2024, that “the target is the headquarters of the company responsible for land transportation in the Zionist entity (Trucknet).”

Even though the statement was delivered on Thursday, the operation was carried out on April 27, 2024. The group said they would continue to carry out attacks against Israel until the war stops. The following is Saraya Al-Ashtar's complete statement:

“The Islamic Resistance in Bahrain, Saraya Al-Ashtar, announced the targeting of the headquarters of the company responsible for land transportation in the Zionist entity (Trucknet) in the city of Umm al-Rashrash in the occupied Palestinian territories (Eilat) on Tuesday, April 27, 2024, using drones, to support the Palestinian struggle and in solidarity with our people who are fighting in Gaza."

"The Islamic Resistance in Bahrain emphasized that they will continue their movement and provide support on all fronts for our people who are patient in fighting Israel in Gaza, and they will not stop their operations until the Zionist aggression in Gaza stops," said Saraya Al-Ashtar.
