Along with The Rifles, The Royal Regiment of Scotland is also one of only two line infantry regiments to maintain its own regular military band within the Corps of Army Music, which was formed through the amalgamation of the Highland band and Lowland band of the Scottish Division. In addition, there are two Territorial bands, The Highland Band and The Lowland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, which are administered by the regiment's two Territorial battalions.

The Royal Artillery Band has been based in Woolwich, South East London since the year 1763 which is the home of the Royal Artillery from 1716. The band is one of eight state bands which provides musical support for state and ceremonial functions within London, England's capital as well as for the Royal Artilley both at home within the UK and abroad.

Back in 1557 at St Quinten, the Band used Fifes and Drums however the regiment had a desire to have a Band of Musick which eventually lead to the formatio of te Royal Artillery Band in 1762 in Minden, Germany. The band then grew from eight musicians where the band members were trained to play both wind and string instruments and by the 1960's the band had over one hundred musicians.
