Video features Massed Commonwealth Highland Dancers which includes the Edinburgh Military Tattoo Highland Spring Dancers who are joined by Highland Dancers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.
The Massed Commonwealth Highland Dancers were originally assembled by Tattoo Dance Director, Billy Forsyth MBE to help mark a celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's Golden Jubilee at the 53rd Edinburgh Tattoo in 2002. They combined again this year to pay tribute to the Queen's Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
The Edinburgh Tattoo Highland Spring Dancers were formed in 1992 who have delighted audiences both at home and overseas with their colourful and exciting performances of traditional Scottish dances which featured a contemporary component. This year's display marks the Queen's 60th wedding anniversary through a series of kaleidoscopic Diamond dance patterns. Their routine also features dance extracts from famous Royal Balls and also form to represent an Edinburgh landmark the Heart of Midlothian.
Ozscot Australia Highland Dancers were established in 2000 and performed for the first time at the Tattoo in 2002 then again in 2004 who took part in an item called Wings marking that year's RAF theme.
The Canadian Highland Dance team also features and was chosen specifically to represent Canada at this year's production. Dancers from the team come from across the province of Nova Scotia.
