The Housing Minister told the Senate today that a total of $241.7 million is owed by some tenants of the Housing Development Corporation.
The Minister said the HDC will be taking steps to recover the sum owed.
She told the Senate tenants are given every opportunity to settle their arrears, and she said in one instance, an HDC tenant owed 128 thousand dollars in rent
for a period of approximately seven years.
