The Prime Minister has expressed concern to the heads of this country's State security services that "about incidents of violent crime and the continued use of illegal high powered assault weapons".
Following a weekend of 14 killings due to gun violence, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the National Security Council.
His office says he "discussed with the leadership assembled, the need for a more proactive, intelligence- driven, targeted and robust approach."
