Siblings Claudia und Uwe Sturm say the global economic downturn hasn't hit their family's construction business too hard. After major clients cancelled contracts for new buildings, the company decided to focus on installing new insulation in private homes. So far this has proved crisis-proof,because the German government continues to provide financial subsidies for such home improvements. The company was founded by Günter Sturm, who has since retired, but continues to take an interest in the firm's growth. Today the Sturm company employs 50 people. Jan Schäfer takes a trip to Harthausen,in Rhineland-Pfalz,to see this family business which has an annual turnover of some 5 million euros.
