After the Budget, the most common question in people's minds is, Why are Farmer Incomes not taxed? Why is Agricultural Income tax free in India? Why doesn't the Government take a few steps to tax it? Turns out the answer is not so simple.

Taxing agriculture is necessary for a country like India yet it is complicated because of many reasons. Unfortunately, because of the emotions involved, taking any decision like this is equal to political suicide. Taxing agricultural income needs political will and that is sorely missing in a country like India.
