United Airlines and Delta Airlines suspended daily flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, amid rising tensions in the Middle East following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran. United had only recently resumed direct flights between the US and Tel Aviv in June after suspending them in October following a Hamas attack in Israel. Both airlines cited security concerns for the suspensions and said they would evaluate the situation before resuming flights. Travel waivers have been issued for customers who already booked flights.
