BIR cites successful anti-tax fraud campaign

Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. of the Bureau of Internal Revenue talks about the BIR's achievement in its campaign against 'ghost receipts' in a press conference at the bureau's main office in Quezon City on Aug. 6, 2024. 'Oplan resibo' cracks down on businesses using fake receipts to reduce the taxes they declare to the government. Lumagui said that the BIR partnered with Ateneo de Manila University mathematicians to fight tax fraud.
