Chilling moment Philadelphia woman is knocked out and dragged to room where she was subjected to a further horrific crime

A Philadelphia woman is recovering after she was dragged to an empty room in her apartment complex, knocked out and had her purse stolen.

The unidentified woman was seen wearing a black and white dress and calmly walking a hallway of the Alden Apartments when an unsuspecting man wearing a green coat came up behind her on July 22.

He was seen straddling her with his hands on her shoulders as he forcibly pushed her down the hallway, despite her attempt to escape his grip, surveillance footage released by the Philadelphia Police show.

He took the woman to an open room, where he 'threw her down and knocked her unconscious, took her things and fled the building,' according to police.

Surveillance footage shows him running down the hallway with the woman's white purse and out of the building.
