Japan on Friday (Aug 9) marked the 79th anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing with a peace ceremony amid some controversy.

Israel's ambassador to Japan was not invited to attend this year's ceremony which prompted the U.S. and other G7 nations to snub the event.
