Meta announced the Quest 3S, a new, affordable virtual reality headset priced at $299, launching October 15th. The device, positioned as a multitasking computer, was unveiled at Meta’s Connect event, where CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted its competition with Apple’s Vision Pro. The headset features improved “passthrough” technology and the ability to multitask with up to six apps simultaneously. Meta also showcased a prototype of augmented-reality smart glasses, Orion, which could serve as a precursor to full AR glasses.
