A Starbucks in Bellingham, Washington, has become the 500th store to unionize under Starbucks Workers United. More than 11,000 baristas have joined the union since the first store voted to unionize in 2021. Union president Lynne Fox described the milestone as a testament to workers building power from the ground up. Starbucks and the union have met monthly since April to negotiate a labor framework. The union and Starbucks reported that their negotiations have been productive and resulted in progress on key issues.
