"Join us in learning how to make Aalu ka Halwa, a scrumptious sweet dish that is an absolute must-try during Navratri. This halwa will surely satisfy your sweet tooth while keeping your fasting healthy and enjoyable!"
Ingredients :
250 grams आलू (Potatoes)
50 grams नारियल (Coconut)
500 grams दूध (Milk)
100 grams देसी घी (Desi Ghee)
250 grams चीनी (Sugar)
½ चम्मच इलायची पाउडर (Cardamom Powder)
2-3 strands केसर (Saffron)
2 tablespoons चिरोंजी (Chironji)
10-12 बादाम (Almonds, chopped)
10-12 काजू (Cashews, chopped)
2 tablespoons किशमिश (Raisins)
10-12 पिस्ता (Pistachios, chopped)
Instructions:
1. Start by boiling the potatoes, peeling them, and then crushing or mashing them to a smooth consistency.
2. Prepare a coarse powder of coconut for garnishing.
3. In a pan, boil 500 grams of milk and add saffron, allowing it to infuse its flavor.
4. In a separate large pan, heat 100 grams of ghee; add the mashed potatoes and sauté on medium heat until they become aromatic and turn golden brown.
5. Stir in 250 grams of sugar and mix well, then gradually add the boiled milk, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
6. Once mixed, turn off the heat, and transfer the halwa to a serving dish, adding ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
7. Incorporate the chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, chironji, raisins, and pistachios) into the halwa and mix thoroughly.
8. Finally, garnish with the coconut powder you prepared earlier for an added touch of flavor.
